Pasta Puttanesca

That's Italian for "very few ingredients" you know. According to Lemony Snicket, anyway. If you look on Wikipedia you'll get a very different definition.........

So, I thought I would be making one dish for dinner until I got home and realized I was missing a crucial ingredient. So I took inventory of what I had:

Leftover steak
Canned tomatos
Creme Fraiche (like heavy cream but really thick)

After adding some garlic, basil, oregeno, and salt I ended up with a REALLY YUMMY sauce for the pasta. I cut up the leftover steak and warmed it in a skillet and threw it in. Everyone loved it!

Mmmmmm..... I lived in Italy for a few years and I really, really miss the food. You just can't get that wonderful heavy cream for those amazing sauces here in the states. Looks delicious.
